COOKIE POLICY

Last updated: 2025-11-27

This Cookie Policy explains how Yumea Cosmetics AB uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website. Here we describe which types of cookies exist, which cookies we use and why, as well as how you as a visitor can manage your cookie settings and consents.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer, phone or other device when you visit a website. Cookies are used for many purposes – they can enable basic functions on the site, remember your settings, collect statistics or tailor ads and content to your interests.

Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a returning visitor and thereby provide a more personal and faster experience. There are also similar technologies, such as pixels (small invisible images) and scripts, which can be used for similar purposes. In this policy we use the term “cookies” to include these technologies as well.

What types of cookies are there?

Cookies can be categorised by duration and domain, but also by purpose. Below are the main categories of cookies that are commonly used:

Necessary cookies: These cookies are essential for the website to function properly and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions you take, such as placing products in the shopping cart or filling in forms. Without these cookies, services such as the cart and checkout would not work. Necessary cookies do not store personal information about you.

Functional cookies (preference cookies): These enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, for example by remembering your choices and settings (language, region, etc.) on the site. If you do not allow these cookies, some of our services may be affected and may not function optimally.

Analytics and performance cookies: These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting information about visitor statistics, traffic sources and user behaviour. All data collected via these cookies is aggregated and anonymised. They show us, for example, which pages are most popular and whether users receive error messages on certain pages. Allowing these cookies helps us improve our website and your user experience.

Marketing cookies (tracking/advertising cookies): These cookies are set by us or our advertising partners to build a profile of your usage and interests, in order to show relevant ads on our or other websites. They uniquely identify your browser and device (not you personally by name) and can, for example, register that you visited our site and then show you targeted offers on other sites. If you do not allow these cookies, the advertising you see will be less tailored to your assumed interests.

Social media cookies: These cookies are set by social media services (such as Facebook and Instagram) that we have integrated into our website (e.g. via share or like buttons). They make it possible for you to share our content in your networks. Social media cookies can track your browser across other websites and build a profile of your interests. If you do not allow these cookies, features for sharing or integrating content via social media may be affected.

Which cookies do we use?
On Yumea Cosmetics AB’s website we use the following cookies:

Platform cookies (our own system): Necessary cookies that keep track of your shopping cart and login. These have names such as sessionid, cart etc. and come from our own domain.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics to analyse traffic and user behaviour. These cookies provide us with overall information and statistics.

Marketing: We currently do not use any third-party marketing/tracking cookies beyond any advertising pixels that are only set if you have given consent.

Social media: Our site includes sharing buttons for Facebook and Instagram, which may set cookies for these services if you are logged in there.

You can see a complete list of which cookies are used and their lifetimes by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer (where we keep an up-to-date overview).

Consent to cookies – your control
When you visit our website for the first time, a cookie banner is displayed. You will be asked to set your preferences: you can choose to accept all cookies, customise which categories are allowed, or decline non-essential cookies. Only necessary cookies are loaded without consent. Your choice is saved and applies to future visits, but you can change it at any time.

How to manage your cookie settings:

Via our website: You can click the “Cookie settings” link at any time to open the settings centre again. There you can see which types of cookies are active and adjust your consent (add or remove categories). If you previously consented to, for example, analytics cookies but no longer wish to allow them, you can deactivate them and they will no longer be used.

Via your browser: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies via the settings. You can choose to block all or some cookies, or have the browser notify you when a website attempts to place a cookie. Please note that if you block cookies entirely via your browser, some functions on our and other websites may stop working (e.g. the cart, login).

Withdraw consent: If you have consented to cookies and want to withdraw your consent, you can either adjust your settings via our “Cookie settings” link or delete cookies in your browser. The next time you visit our site, the banner will appear again so you can make a new choice.

We always respect your choice and will not set or read non-essential cookies if you have opted out of them. However, note that if you delete cookies, this may affect your experience (for example, you may need to log in again or redo certain settings).

Third parties
Some of the cookies we use are set by external parties (third-party cookies). For example, Google Analytics sets cookies that we use, and the collected data (e.g. anonymised IP address, visitor statistics) is sent to Google for analysis purposes. We aim to cooperate only with trusted partners where there are adequate protections for your data. More information about how our partners handle cookies and data can be found in their respective privacy policies.

We may also use embedded content from social media; if you interact with such content, these services may set cookies as described above.
